Personally, I'd rather not have a functional airbag then to deal with a retrofitted one. The single stage airbag was designed to be securely mounted behind its original cover with proper brackets etc. If you want to do it 100% right, get a 2001 RX airbag.
My single stage airbag used to be a double stage airbag. All mounting points are the same. No special brackets needed.
Hil, that wheel looks EXACTLY like mine. Maybe that's why me likey!
Perhaps I should include that I plan on superglueing the emblem on for a flusher look. I happen to know for a fact how stock emblems are attached. It is with plastic pins just as exterior emblems and an adhesive. Also, with the way the airbag splits, if the emblem is attached the way I will attach it, it will flip up with the top half of the cover and the bag will come through.
EDIT:
Also, some other very important things to consider. While emblems on the outside of the car are hard plastic, emblems made for steering wheels are a softer, more flexible material. These won't shatter unless you dry freeze them and hammer it. Also, it is absolutely ridiculous to compare an emblem to a BB. The surface areas are completely different. The amount of pressure a very small object produces is much larger than the force a larger object would produce.
Hil, I knew he didn't deserve that 3-spoke steering wheel! Should've given it to me!
Oh and I think I will cut my seat belts also.

See how the cover deploy's too it just opens up instead of just ripping at the wrong perforation. My friend has a CF cover on his Fit.
I asked him about the hazards he said none as the company that makes it has tested a few of them.... as it just swings upwards for the bag to deploy

Thanks for the input. It's ok.. Ryeno is past the emblem, he is now PMing about why airbags are unsafe and should not be used in the first place..
So for me to have a functional airbag like yours, I need the following:
1. 2001+ Lexus 3 spoke airbag for its cover
2. 1997+ SC300 3 spoke airbag for its actual airbag?
You can also find the rare 01 rx300 airbag which is the updated cover with single stage airbag. Don't forget the airbag adapter harness if your SC is pre 99.
edit: Saw your previous post so you already know the info. Here is a piece of information that some of you may not know. This is another alternative since 01 RX300 airbags don't come around too often. As AutocoutureSC stated you can swap the round airbag module without any issues. Only the round smaller round modules off 00-01 will match up. You would think that these are hard to find but they can be found from many 00-01 lexus AND toyota airbags. A popular and cheap choice is off the 00-01 camry, corolla, solara, etc...Hope this helps you guys out trying to retrofit.

Okay so I currently I have a dual stage Camry airbag. I can get another dual stage Lexus airbag for the Lexus cover since Lexus air bags are a dime a dozen as well.
So which single stage airbag can be retrofitted into it? 2000-2001 Toyota ones?

If you want to keep your dual stage camry airbag cover, just find a 00-01 toyota/lexus airbag with the module behind it and swap it over. If you want the lexus airbag cover you will have to do the same as above or find the 01 rx300 airbag which comes single stage already. Shoot me a pm or aim if you need more clarification.

Ryeno is either the dumbest person on CL or is trolling every thread.
Most newer cars have emblems on the airbag cover and the covers are perforated so when they blow the panel with the emblem attached swings out of the way to let the airbag through.
BTW, how did you put the Lexus emblem where the Toyota one used to be? Wasn't there an imprint of the Toyota emblem on the airbag cover?
