Default 'New' steering wheel

I figured I would post up a shot of my new steering wheel set up. I managed to take a decent night pic of it at a recent meet.

I am in the process of converting all the brown parts in my car to black. I am almost done except for the dashboard, R window trim, and ebrake handle.

The wheel is from an ES330, the bag is from my stock 3 spoke, and the airbag cover is from a Camry.

The cover was modified to fit the Lexus badge and was sprayed with Landau black SEM paint to match the wheel. Some modifications had to be done to get the cover on the bag bracket, thanks to vwynn and DRFTSC400 for helping out.

I realized I should've taken pics along the way but oh well.. lol.

how well does the wood on the wheel match the dash? It might have more of a red tone to it right?

eh none of the wood matches. lol, shifter, dash/doors, and wheel are all different. but it's not enough to bug me. you are correct, it is a cherry wood so reddish

it does feel good! can't stop looking at it either.. which can be potentially hazardous.

BTW how is that "L" logo attached? If it from the original airbag or did you glue it on?
double sided tape that came on it. I bought a brand new one.. OEM 3 spokes for the SC dont have emblems.

I'd rather have a L in my forehead for the rest of my life than DIE because I didn't have an airbag. JMHO

You'd be much safer with no airbag v glued/taped on logo with functioning airbag.
You're saying that driving without an airbag is safer? did you read what you just wrote?

You should cut your seatbelts too, because you might get whiplash in an accident. Going through the windshield is definitely much safer

Sick!

So did you get a different steering wheel?

Did you somehow stuff the old functional single stage airbag under there?

ah... most new cars already have an emblem. I'm sure if it was such a huge safety hazard, it wouldn't be implemented on steering wheels.

That is driving with no airbag is safer then driving with an airbag that when it deploys will send a projectile at your face at @ 200mph.
your ignorance never ceases to astound and wonder me
