Default Differences between the LS430 grades (base,ML,CL,etc)

Could someone explain the differences between the grades offered on the LS430 and how to differentiate between them?

Here are some comments on the above bolded part of your question, in case you were wondering how to quickly recognize the different trim levels on a car you're looking at...

Base model -- no Navigation, which will also mean no ML sound system
Ultra Luxury -- Look for the rear door window shades evident by little handles half-way along the window sill on the inside that you can grab and pull up.
Custom Luxury -- Look for the headlamp washer covers visible in the bumper just under the headlights, and does not have rear window shades
Modern Luxury -- Navigation but no headlamp washers

There are certainly other ways to tell, but if you aren't very familiar with the cars, I think the above will allow you to simply and quickly determine what you're looking at. This is just off the cuff thinking, but I believe it is accurate... if something is wrong I'm sure somebody here will point it out.

Headlamp washers were actually a stand alone option like the smart access. You can get a non CL car with headlamp washers!!

^^Is correct but other than that I6turbo is spot on. I usually know the UL's by the lil glass plate on the front grill

My 2004 ultra luxury is a very early production model and does not have the glass plate on the front grill. The laser speed sensor is in the lower right facia.

Are you guys sure about that? It's not mentioned as a stand-alone item in the literature (brochures or option lists) as far as I have seen.

2006 brochure:

2005 specifications list:

Good job! 100% accurate, that is the shortest way to describes all the different trims to a newbe, It is the quickest/easiest ways to tell between them.

I have never seen it listed as a stand-alone option, and I have never seen a non-CL/UL in real life or in pictures that got headlight washers. Call me obsessed, but I pay close attention to every brochures, option lists, cars and pictures I come across.

I never say anything absolute anymore since there are always some exception pops up, like those UL in Hawaii that don't have NAV. But generally speaking the headlight washers only come with the CL/UL package.

I never even knew one could get a LS430 WITHOUT the dvd nav! I've never seen one that way! So if it comes w/ dvd/nav, it automatically comes with the Levinson sound system?

Which 2005-06 grades have the levinson+dvd/nav but have heated, non-ventilated front seats?

Yeah the base model don't have NAV, they are not the most common, but not the most rare either.

Yeah, the Levinson sound system pretty much always bundle with the NAV, that is call the modern luxury package.

Pretty much all grades of 05'/06' cars have heated and ventilated front seats, since it is near the end of the model run, Lexus put that feature in all the cars, even the base model.
