Default GS 2006 450h hid adjustment

Hi all, i couldn't find the gauges or bubble gauge that shows me the hid adjustment for low beam. All i found under the hood was 2 turning screw for adjustment, there's no bubble gauge anywhere. Could it be my was a 2006 model? and even when i adjust the screens it doesn't need a 12" long screwdriver to adjust like what some of the forum threads said, the turn screen is just by the side of the headlight assembly.

when i adjust it, i don't see the hid move anywhere, either left right or top down. Could it be my adjust screws have been broken?

You would have to remove the front plastic cover that covers the front end from left to right. The bubble is under the cover.

The long screw driver is required to adjust low beam up and down. There is a hole on the side of the engine bay to stick and guide ur tool through to the adjusting screw.

You also need to remove the lower plasteic engine cover from the top to reveal the bulbs.

Odd. It should be where that bolt is.

Clean up the clear plastic where that bolt is... do u see the bubbles? It’s right in there. There should be 1 for high and one for low beams.

Never mind what I just said. Try removing the bolt and see what’s underneath. Is your headlight stock?

not sure why, but that bolt is made of plastic not metal, i feel that if i force it it will break.
i wouldn't expect that i need to unscrew the bolt to see the bubble gauge. the funny thing is my manual also didn't have the section for headlight adjustment under the DIY section.

maybe the 2006 gs450h is abit different.
my headlight i can confirm is stock standard.

Maybe ask the dealer. I've seen a few pictures online that show the 450h having the bubble level. They also the special blueish lens compared to the regular GS.

Do you know if the headlamp was replaced with an aftermarket OEM style?

Could we get a shot of the headlights itself? Also are there any text on the lens itself. I think if it's true OEM, it would have a Koito stamp or another Japanese company stamp on there.

There is a brand called Spyder that sells aftermarket OEM style that has the bolt in place of the bubble. This is a link to the chrome, OEM style, https://www.carid.com/2006-lexus-gs-...-97691080.html. The one I'm posting up is the blackout version because it actually shows the top of the headlight housing but from the same company.

Here you go. OEM is made by Koito. Marking is towards the bottom left/right of the turn signal.

You would have to do it the old fashion way. You'll need a level road, a wall, masking tape an about 25 feet of straight road.
