Difference in AM/FM CD Radios?
Can someone tell me the difference between a Pioneer P6832 and P6846 AM/FM CD Radio? My 2005 uses P6846 and a 2004 uses the P6832. The number can be seen on flap that covers the slot for the cassette. Trying to replace my unit but the one I found P6832, looks exactly like the one I own but not sure if there is connector differences or something else that makes it incompatiable.
Yes, there is a difference between the two radios.
I do not recall whether it is just the plug or if it is the internals.
Companies like GROM make adapters for 2005 & up, but not for 2004 and down

interesting suggestion, thanks. I noticed near the end of the video, he inserted a cd and then used bluetooth to play the music from his phone. If you need to insert a cd to make it work then, I cannot use it because my cd player is non functional with jammed discs.
DshngDaryl, thanks for providing this information and confirming my suspicions that there is a connector difference. The GROM device is also an interesting alternative. My immediate problem is I have discs jammed in the CD player and I cannot get them out, so I was looking into replacing the whole unit instead of sending it in to have it repaired. The replacement unit cost $250 vs about $250 to repair. Decisions-Decisions.

What is BFH and Tango Uniform? … I did the smack routine which used to work before but not this time. Found out the CD player is sensitive to the thickness of the CD discs inserted. Its critical to buy the right CD thickness (when recording your own media) that falls within the thickness of a commercial CD disc or else the discs jam.

if you are willing, there is a YouTube video and threads on here about opening the radio to access the disks and to fix the problem.
I think it has to do with a spring in the CD area of the radio
Will look at the YT Video if I venture to remove the unit and pull the discs. I tried using the credit card/double sided tape manuver but could not grab the disc. The opening is very narrow preventing long slim needle pliers from opening enough to grip the disc. I have two discs in the unit. Even tried the the procedure to disconnect the battery and then reconnecting it, forcing the CD player to reset and automatically eject all discs but it just grinds away trying to eject them unsuccessfully.
I think that it might have been RetroPlay who did a write up on disassembling the headunit to fix the CD problem. And yes, you are correct in the thickness issue. Certain re-writable CDs and CDs with labels added to them tend to get stuck. The whack method does work sometimes.
