Default Sound System

I have replaced the original radio with a Pioneer/Beatsonic combo in my 2002. Ran well for years. Front Channels are off now, switching radio off and back on didn't bring them back. Other then taking out the radio / beatsonic or getting to the amp in the rear, is there an easier way to troubleshoot?

Why yes! Yes there is. If you have one of these, you can run the wand sensor over the wire and the tracker will actually demodulate and play whatever is being sent over the cars wiring. No signal? No sound. I used it to troubleshoot blown Midrange and tweeters on my front doors. i was shocked when I discovered that it could do this. I normally just use it locate broken/damaged wiring. All you need is the wand.

Newone1: thanks, but with the beatsonic the steering wheel controls are limited to volume control only
Raven01750: interesting tool, yet I still have to get to the wires, right? Thanks!

Wires? I guess I have the advantage owning the "2002 Electrical Wiring Diagram" for the SC430. It shows where every plug and harness is and where its routed in the car. Since the wires themselves are not Shielded, I just literally ran the wand sensor along the wiring harness and it played music through the Wands speaker. It was a piece of cake once I discovered that jewel. An electronic service manual is the cheapest of the entire set. If you pay more than $40.00 for a hard copy, you paid to much. Frankly, our cars are so old now that it's pretty much imperative that you own a set. The only one I don't own is for the Transmission. And I'll probably pick up a copy of that soon.

Matthias I have the beatsonic and Pioneer setup on my 2002 and the two buttons below the mode control the fade from front to rear speakers on mine? The volume controls and set button are on the left lower side of control.
PS: I just looked at the beatsonic MVA-12L instructions and if you look at Appendix A it states "Adjusting the fader (Forward-rear Balance) Up arrow to set fader to the front and down arrow to set fader to the rear".. It also said to check fader on the OEM head unit, and make sure it's at the center/neutral or "0"...
Hope this helps.....

NEWONE1: that was a very good tip. It put the sound back to where it belongs. who would have thought that after owning the car 21 years, i would learn something new again. Including the lesson to read manuals (Beatsonic). Thanks!

also thanks to Paul. I have the service manuals for years and will check for future reference what I can find about the wiring. Thanks.
