Default Help diagnose radio problems

Hi 2004 gx with ML and navigation here. Lost sound so after checking all radio fuses I figured it was the infamous ml amp and had it sent off and repaired at hi tech electronics in California. Comes back plug it in and still no dice. Ordered a used identical junk yard radio (tape player part below the Nav screen) still nothing. What I notice is this: no sound on am fm tape, very little garbled static sound on CD Player. Searching for fm or am gets you nothing it just keeps on searching over and over like I was out in the middle of nowhere. Is there a radio antenna box or another radio amp or something? Where is it located? Navigation sound works fine No error codes in the diagnostic screen or under LAN menu. I'm getting angry now. Help
Luke

I have same year same equipment with Rear entertainment system. I find sometimes cant turn radio on try pressing radio button tried steering wheel buttons. No luck then I smacked the steering wheel right where the volume and mode button is and the radio came on. I believe I have a clock spring going bad. You might want to check that. I just leave radio on when I turn off ignition and it works when I re-start. It could be a coincidence but as long as it works I will leave it be.

Default Radio control

you can also try and see if you can turn radio on and off from the voice command button on the right side of your steering wheel also try the volume control as well

Ok I just got my sound fixed came out to be a caset player that had shorted out and burned amplifier too ... so i had to buy a stereo caset from wrecking yard for $160 and an amplifier for $50 from craigslist .......good and happy news for owners of gx470 and possible any lexus from 03-06 with mark levinson... listen all any kind of mark levinson would work it doesn’t again it doesn’t have to be the same part number today i have just proved it on my owen 04 gx470 I installed a mark levinson amplifier from an 02 sc430 that had a mark levinson so if your amp goes bad get any mark levinson from any lexus believe me and take my word it will work do not let them trick you. I thought nk this is a good news for all
