Many sites will sell the colored sensors. I just picked one. Rock Auto no longer has the Denso. They have the Standard Motor Products. They may be fine, but if it were me, I wouldn't want to have them installed and then find out they don't work. If it were me, I would get the Toyota or Denso so I was sure.

Guess we forgot to mention the $0 free option.

disable TPMS…it’s easy…the directions are in the stickies, the section at the top of the SC430 area.

The '02 - '06 would only have this button. There is no option in Techstream to program 2 full sets of sensors for cars with the 4-colored sensors.

The pic I posted earlier is from the 2003 SC430 owners manual… I downloaded it from Lexus.

I never attempted to program a second set of sensors when we had our 2002…if TechStream can’t do it, how would you program the second set?

here is the page from the 2006 owners manual

What? Living in Florida, you never needed a set of snow tires?

You can buy a tester or any tire store can check for you and tell which sensor is bad. The wheel has to be broken down to tell the sensor color. Colors can't be mixed. $55 plus install and balance, let say $70 per wheel. $70 to $280 to get toms working. What does tpms do? Not much, only that a tire is low. No idea as to which one. I was going to replace all of the sensors when I bought new tires, until I priced new sensors and realized tpms couldn't tell me which tire was low. I had disabled tpms and bought a cheap tpms system from eBay to tide me over til I bought a new set of tires. This cheap tpms tells all for pressures of each individual tire. The accuracy isn't perfect, but I can monitor any change. The Lexus system when working can't do any of this. $30 or $280 take your pick.

Has anyone had Costco replace the sensors? Are they as good as OEM?

Are you in the right forum? The discussion here is about 02-06 sensors only. And no, Costco cannot replace them.

If you bought the sensors and brought them to Costco, they could replace them but they couldn't register them.

My OPINION. Get a scanner or get your vehicle scanned to check the sensor battery voltage. If it is 2.4V or close, time to change it. If its not registering at all, then it is "most likely" the sensor.
Just go to the dealer and purchase them there since they are pre 2006. You will NOT find aftermarket for our model years.
Plus, They will have to program them with Toyota's TechStream software. They will NOT warranty any parts purchased outside. If you get a bad "new" sensor, or one that they are not familiar with, you have more problems. Its a one time maintenance expense. You should look at it like a timing belt. It just doesn't blow up your engine if one goes bad!🤣 I did a whole writeup on my experience including time and cost in Southern California. Good luck.

My thought. If you have a pre-06, just disconnect the TPMS and forget about it. You can live without just like in the old days.
