Default TPMS pressure light

How do I turn of the TPMS low air dash light? I added air to the tries and it wont go away. I drive a 2003 sc430. I searched and found that it could be a button in the dash but couldn't find it.

You don't. It's telling you one of your TPMS's are bad. That button is for if you have 2 sets of wheels like winter snow tires. You might want to think about getting a new set of TPMS's. Remember the TPMS in the SC are the Red, White, Blue and Yellow/Gold. You will need Techstream to reprogram the new sensors. Do not let Costco, Discount tire etc tell you their sensors will work or that they can program them because they cannot. There is a ton of info on this subject. Do a forum search.

If you haven't replaced your TPMS sensors yet you are due. The light on the dash will come on either when a tire pressure is low or when a sensor is bad. Normally due to a battery going bad. The tire places will tell you they can replace them. They cannot. Well they can replace them, they just can't pair them to the car.

Dave has an '03 so it would not have that selector button.

I think the sensor is bad. The car is 100% original with 73k miles. In great shape and new sensors are probably due. I see they cost around $80 per sensor for OEM Lexus. Anyone know a cheaper replacement?

You can get the Denso sensors but they normally cost about the same as the Toyota. Denso makes the sensors for Toyota. Either one works fine. I also think Standard Motor parts makes a sensor for the early SCs, I think they are about $55.00 at Rock Auto. After that there are no alternatives for the 02-06 SC430s.

Dave

You are going to want the TPMS's from Denso with the part numbers that end in a 1. 42067-24011, 42607-24021, 42607-24031 and 42607-24041. These are the newest sensors. The original part numbers ended in a 0. As you look for them you are going to want a Red, Blue, White and Yellow/Gold. The sensors that end in 0 will be older and the batteries will be running low and shelf life Get the Toyota parts because you will know they will program with Techstream. Way to much of a hassle and costs to install and then find out they won't program.

They are not cheap but you know they will work and las

They don’t sell color sensors. Go to the dealer or order from Rock Auto.

looks like Rockauto has them…the first four are the ones you need…BTW, you will also need TechStream to program them…they have a three year warranty. I used OEM Toyota (Denso)
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...)+sensor,12036

here is a thread on programming with pics of TechStream
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...02-2006-a.html

this guy will tell you how to install TechStream on a modern 64bit laptop…I installed it and it works great.
you just need the mini VCI cable.

there ya have it…everything you wanted to know…if I forgot something, give me a shout ;-)
