Default ECU remapping

I have a replacement ECU with the same part number as the original. I'm leaning toward Quantum for the remap. Have any of you had a Quantum remap? What options did you get? Are you happy with your decisions and what would you do differently? Did the key programming go well, immobilizing yes or no. What are your thoughts? Thanks

I also bought a spare ECU, paid extra to have it from the same year as my car, but Yuri told me that any year would have worked and I could have saved money buying the cheapest available. Now waiting for it to arrive reprogrammed, and hope to report the changes in 0-60 before and after. Already found the 30-minute procedure to pair the key. Frankly, when I was buying this car, the sluggish throttle was my first impression (had a 1.8L Corolla before that, with a proper mechanical throttle so was used to a normal response, not delayed by the electronics). I thought something was wrong as my expectation of the V8 was to be livelier than an I4. Then I got used to it, but we will see if remap makes a real difference.

tma, your SC is slow?

Could it be that large Texas Stetson you are sporting?

Bump for interest. I have a throttle controller now. It is good for that initial lag, but I would prefer an ECU tune to help with the shift points. The SC430 always wants to shift up; it will be in 5th gear by 35 mph

: ) I do have a hat but it’s not a Stetson. I’ve never evolved enough to own one.
I was talking about the first impression, yes it was sluggish then. I figure ECU swap is a reversible process, so I’ll give it a try.
I think I’ve already posted a link to that video of the throttle delay (link) before and after a remap by Yuri.

For faster transmission shifts, the ECT mode button should do it. There are also threads here about a mechanical switch inside our transmission, which allows faster shifts, but gotta lift the car, drain the fluid for access, so this is in the maybe box.
