I live in Maryland, where you can register a car as historic once it is 20 years old. That makes the 2002 SC430s historic. I just changed my registration, which went from $90 per year to $25 per year. The car can't be used for commuting to work or other daily driving purposes, which is not a problem since it is a second car. I'm not sure what impact it will have on my insurance rates. I'll figure that out soon. I got a quote from Haggerty for a collector car policy, but it was not much less expensive that what I've been paying USAA with standard registration, and some quick internet research gave me the impression that Haggerty is a nightmare if you actually need to make a claim.
It is worth checking your state's historic registration policy if you've got an older model year.
I have antique plates on my 1990 Bronco II. I am grandfathered in because back in 2015 when I bought the BII it was 25 years for antique plates which is a one time registration when you get the antique plates. Now they have made the requirement 35 years. So I have a while to go on the SC.
I reside in Adelaide South Australia, and Historic Plates kick in at 30 years. My 1960 Ford Thunderbird and my 1989 Mercedes 260E are on Historic Reg. Our 2001 SC is 9 years away, and seeing that I'm 75 years young right now and my Wife 69, who knows.

In North Carolina they kick in at 30. This surprised me when I moved from Virginia where they are 25 years. So my 94 Yamaha VMax went from antique to not no more. Insurance is now higher as is property tax and yearly regulation and inspection.

I just learned about USAA Classic Car insurance from a guy who had it on his Mustang. He made a claim when it was totaled by a careless driver.
he had it insured for an agreed amount, he said they actually gave him more since used car prices increased.
he was VERY happy but sad to loose Anniversary Mustang.
I am going to insure my 2000 Firebird TransAm Convertible with USAA Classic Car.
i currently have it insured with them on a regular policy driving less than 1000 miles year. https://www.usaa.com/inet/wc/insuran...ector_car_main
UPDATE…I just signed up with the company in the link above. They are a partner of USAA.
American Collectors Insurance
they have been a partner of USAA for over 20 years and been in business since 1976.
my insurance dropped $180 a year, identical coverage ;-)
@Bgw70 , I didn't pursue classic car insurance through USAA because it seemed that they required a closed garage, and I keep my car on my carport with a car cover, but do not have a garage. Do you have a garage?
EDIT: Duh. I see a picture of your garage in your post!

Here in South Australia, you get a log book that has to be signed for each day that you drive the car for only 90 days of the year. Regular registration is around $900 a year, on historic only $90.
