Default stereo/navigation installation

I want to replace the OEM ML stereo unit in my 2006 SC430 with a Pioneer AVICW 8600NEX. I will retain the ML amp and I want all of the functionality of the upper unit to remain in tact. The new unit will be used for stereo, navigation, telephone however it is important that the upper unit still work to provide maintenance data etc. Does anyone know of a unit or wiring harness that I can use to achieve these results?

beatsonic…plenty of threads on this subject.
I don’t have a problem with the advanced search on clublexus but find the following method more productive for folks who not had a chance to explore the CL search engine…
do a Google search using SC430 BeatSonic ClubLexus
we look forward to your responses in the applicable radio threads you find…ask questions, we are here to help ;-)

Unfortunately Beat Sonic is the only solution that works out of the box. With some weird kinks to how the steering wheel buttons work.

Other Methods require some stuff from Metra/Axxess to retain ML amp, a resistor and replacement of the Nav at top with replacement Android Screen/Radio.

A few have recently done this (me included).

Go with Beatsonic if you don’t want to hack and slash lol.

The main function that I am trying to maintain in the old OEM upper unit is the Maintenance schedule and as far as I can tell the BeatSonic unit will not maintain that function.
Is there a work around that will allow the Maintenance function to work even if all of the other functions of the upper unit no longer work.
Also is it possible to install the old ML radio somewhere else in the car so that it is wired into the system for purposes of allowing the upper unit to function but not use it as the radio? Just a thought.
Any suggestions are welcome

I never used the maint function in my 2002 or 2007 but I did set some the maint functions in the 2002 and they continued to alert me.

as for the 2007, I turned all the maint settings off, but I think I can turn them on again…NAV works too but I am unsure about BT…don’t think it does.

I installed BeatSonic on both of these cars.

How did you learn this info?

I'm assuming you used the MVA-13L on your 2007 Sc430. If so could I trouble you to check and see if the Maintenance function in the OEM unit still works properly.
The BeatSonic unit is expensive and I only want to buy it if I know for sure that the Maintenance function works

I appreciate all of the information and pictures. Clearly the maintenance screens are still functioning and you are able set the dates or distances for the next service. I just want to confirm that once you set a particular function like an oil change that it actually counts down the distance and alerts you when the oil change is needed.
Also when the BeatSonic MVA 13L was installed was it a simple plug and play installation or did you have to McGiver it in some fashion.
Thanks again for your help on this
