Default Noises and sources

I bought this car two months ago and am slowly getting it sorted out. Now that I have more time to go after the trivial, I am finding noises.

1) The first time I heard the antenna going up I thought all hell had broken loose. Didnt realise that the noise came from the back seat whenever I turned on the radio. It is still there but is dimminishing so I assume its getting excersized and will eventually go away. But if this is a symptom of a disaster getting ready to happen...is there something I could do?

2) After putting the top up I sometimes hear wind noise from the passanger side that is resolved by pulling up the passanger side window button. Is there an adjustment for this?

3) I have been bothered from the beginning by a noise from the back seat that sounds like leather squeeking/crackling (sounds like popcorn) as it rubs against some other leather. Is there something I should put on the leather OR take OFF the leather, or just live with it.

Is the passenger window not going up all the way? If so, yes, there is an adjustment for it. I pointed it out in a DIY for replacing the triangle weatherstripping in the doors.

There's a good chance the back seat noise is caused by the front seat rubbing up against the seat of the back seat. You can either move the seat up or place a towel between them. Leather conditioner may help but I kind of doubt it.

Good call Harold. I had this problem occur and was able to fix it with conditioner. However, moving the seat up to avoid contact works too.

Jim: The antenna can be lubed with a high-quality, light oil, like Tri-flow. Just have someone run it up and down while you alternately spray it with lube and wipe it with a microfiber towel. As ongoing maintenance, do this periodically. Also wipe it clean occasionally when washing the car. If it needs further attention, you may need to run the mask all the way out, lube the gear toothed nylon tail, and reinstall it.

Since I am a widower and we are still practicing "social distancing" I guess I will have to wait to get the antenna done....LOL. But I just blew the right front tire and of necessity dont have a spare, so it will wait until the new wheels and tires I ordered get here. They are back ordered!!
As long as the tire is flat, that squeek is fixed too.!

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your SC. I owned mine almost six years and had only one problem: dead battery. Study the record, I see the original owner had complained few minor problems and got them fixed by Lexus dealer.

Sorry, I dont see these as problems.
Squeeky leather, flat tires, etc are just irritants and normal wear and tear, till fixed. The car is awesome and has no problems. PO and I are good friends now
I knew before I bought the car that I was going to replace the wheels and tires, this is just an accelerant.
Actually the squeeky leather just means its not worn out!!
I wish all the cars I ever bought had only minor noises to cure. I bought a bargain for $8,000 and drove it home from South Carolina without a hitch getting 29 miles to the gallon.
I havent had a bad battery yet.....LOL
