Regarding the Flyunice unit, I don't see where it has any capability to handle the temperature control. Neat unit though. Maybe if you were to contact the company directly, they might have something that does.
I agree it would be pretty nifty, but probably not doable. The unit would also need to control the hard top functions - rather doubtful a compnay would implement that for a discontinued model with limited numbers.
The only way I could envision putting in a larger display is to rebuild the AC control unit in a smaller enclosure that could fit at the bottom where the current ML head unit sits. That means a lot of rework for the unit and wire looms. Once that was done, a larger unit could be mounted above the relocated AC control module. It would be a risky and work intensive project with not a lot of real world benefit over simply replacing the navigation display and/or main head unit.
