Default Is this scratch fixable?

My other half thought camping equipment could fit in the backseat however she was wrong and caused this. I admit its my fault as well for going with her plan.

How bad is it?

I guess everything is fixable, it's just a matter of how much $$$. It's hard to tell but is it cut right through or more like a dent? If it's not cut , you may be able to bring it back with some heat massage. Otherwise i think you'll need to see a specialist assuming you can't do it or you wouldn't have asked. Good luck.Oh, hold on. Just had another look before i hit send. Unless it's the lighting, it looks cut.I'm sure there are a lot of upholstery specialists in Cali , so i think you'll be fine. Search or ask these members for recommendations .

Hey Scott. Sorry to see your post. Tragic. And permanent. You need to start searching ebay for the right deal.

Ouch. I bet she feels badly. If it were me, I'd Google Leather Repair for Car Upholstery. There are kits (3M makes one) where depending on the 'injury," it might be fixed or lessened to a degree. But I don't know how durable it is, and that may depend on it's location.

I would also call an auto car top / upholstery place. See if you could bring it by and see what they say.

Good luck.

Some of the shallower (< 3mm deep) dents may actually resolve themselves over time. I've had some dents like that caused by hauling wheels inside my SC430. They gradually popped back out after about a month.

The deeper ones and cut one, I'm afraid you'll still have to apologize to her for letting it happen.

Its a lesson learned however I did apologize to her and bought a preowned 2018 RX350L today as her new daily driver. Everyones happy now. Just still can’t believe those scratches happened!

She apologized first though! Lmao

It was certainly a battle yesterday though especially since 3 buyers showed up trying purchase this one after test driving it a few days ago and I was the first at the door when opening with paperwork and test drove it 10 minutes after dealer opened. 40k miles with 6 year factory warranty. Now i got an excuse to be on RX section on Club Lexus!

After washing up and vaccuming the SC, I found that the interior is still immaculate minus the mishap that can only be seen when looking behind the seat. SC430 still clean!

Still not bored with it after 6 years of ownership but once I do decide to upgrade, LC Vert sounds about right. 😅

Try your hair blower. Start low heat, then medium. It should go back to its memory state. Again start slow, low heat. Good luck. And post after pics.

That is not a scratch...

I had a puncture in one of my front seats a few years back.
The dealer recommended the company that fixes their used cars and had it fixed for under $100.
good luck!

Good to hear from you mandyfig, long time no see around here. I'll definitely follow your instructions and will post pictures of the results!
