Just a suggestion, you need to solder these wires to make sure it delivers the amps and for it not to heat up. No twist and tape here.

Solder AND heat shrink twice. Outer heat shrink should be larger than inner.

I ran into the same problem with my 2006 - I unplugged the alternator to install a new pigtail and the plug plastic broke into pieces and each of the wires pulled right out and I did not get to see each of the spots they pull out of. I was planning this not happening so I could solder one wire at a time on the new pigtail to the old cables where there is no damage. I forgot to unplug the battery and as soon as the wires touched, my fans turned on!

I quickly disconnected the battery - what am embarrassing mistake!

I have pictures showing the wires once they pull out of the old plug and a picture of the new pigtail adapter. Does anyone have any pics or info that will assist me with hooking up the right wires by any chance?

Thank you!

Looks like your 2006 wire colors are different from my 2004 diagram.
Here is the wiring from the 2004 book :
Pin 1 = Yellow
Pin 2 = Red
Pin 3 = Light Blue/ Red

As far as further ID, the Red wire is supplied by a 10 Amp fuse called D-IG and the Light Blue/Red wire gets it's supply from a 5 Amp fuse called ALT-S .
The D-IG 10 Amp fuse is in the Driver side Kick Panel fuse box.
The ALT-S 5 Amp fuse is in the Engine compartment fuse box on the right side of the engine, behind the strut tower.

Hopefullly someone can supply a photo of the connector.
