Default alternator plug seems to big

i am replacing my alternator for the second time in the 4 years i have owned my lexus. first time was a simple fix but this time it seems a little harder. took off the old alternator and tried to plug in the new one and the plug seems to be too big for the hole. is this a common problem or am i doing something wrong. does anyone have a pic of a alternator plug so i can see if there is something wrong with my plug. i need help!!

Yeah you got the wrong one, you might be able to remedy it by getting the round plug from a junkyard and splicing it into your factory harness.
