Default DRL off - need help - Dealer cannot perform request

Greetings New Member here (just rejoined),

Tried going to Longo Lexus and they were unable to perform the request. I am currently unable to use the aliexpress item I purchased to try to perform it myself since the CD install disc could not read and usb driver unable to install. If anyone can assist with where I can go to turn off the DRL that would be great. Located in southern CA.

What item did you buy? I am not aware there is another way to customize your SC but using TechStream.
Can you provide the link to item you bough. I’d like to see it.
For using TechStream to customize your SC, just do a search on the subject.

I went to the Lexus Service Dealership and they pretty much gave me a weird look when I asked them. I bought a Windows XP Laptop that can run Techstream and disabled the DRL from there.

Thanks for helping out. So far I'm messaging the seller on the usb driver and cd issue and was waiting for a response but, I forgot to tell them about the wrong cable firmware so just sent another message just now. I'll have to wait a few days or so again. Here's the link

I’m confused. Please do not convey your message in two different threads for same issue. Stay with this thread, we’ll help you to figure out what’s the problem. Ok, here are my questions:

1. There are only two version of firmwares, either 1.4.1 or 2.0.4. How do you know you got the wrong one?
2. When you said “usb”, did you mean the cable?
3. Please tell us exactly what’s your problem when you inserted the CD to your computer. Did the installation success? Did you get the main page?
4. If you got the main page, what’s happened when you connect the cable to your SC? Did you get the error message “unable to connect to VIM”?

As a rule a dealership will not turn off your DRL because they are a safety item. I turned the DRL's off on my 2010 LS460L using the cirista app and on my 2006 SC and my sons 2005 SC using techstream

Hey All, thanks for assisting on this

1. I assumed it was 2.0.1 since the driver file. The CD was unreadable past the first screen. Can show files but, not load them. "MVCI Driver for TOYOTA-CABLE 2.0.1"
2. YES
3. The CD was unreadable past the first screen. Can show files but, not load them. "Techstream_Setup_V13.00.022"
4. Did not get that far and am waiting for seller to respond again. I'm asking for the USB Driver file and they are telling me to load Techstream 15.

32 Bit and Window 7

I just sent another message to the seller today and purchased another cable a few days ago on ebay in hopes I can get the driver on cd (price was half as much). I do want to thank all who read this thread or trying to help out. Much thanks in advance again.

Not to sound like a jerk, but how good are you at computer related things?

Your easiest thing to do is by a laptop with windows xp or windows 7 32 bit. You can probably get one for $50 or less off offerup, ebay or craigslist. If you get a Panasonic Toughbook you will have the same equipment as the dealer, but a dell inspiron will be cheaper. You can use the obd connector you bought and the disk that came with it to load the drivers.
Then you can load techstream and be on your way (most likely). (Most people do not realize it is a two step process.)

The harder way, which takes more computer savvy is for you to google "Techstream 64 bit" and find directions on how to edit the registry to accept the drivers. It is more complex than most people want to tackle,

Another option is you list your actual city in your profile and see if one of your fellow ClubLexus members will allow you access to their techstream.

Daryl, he said he has Win7-32.

Retarded, download ver12 from this link. It’s cracked and patched. Just install.

Do not use Ver 13. It has bug and will crash when perform “health check” and some other tests.

Highly suggest that if you are thinking of disabling your DRL, install the replacement for it. Like installing strip LEDs. This will act as your DRL. There has been some threads on this DRL replacement. Good luck.

Hey Gman, thanks for assisting. I did download the version 12. Loaded it. USB driver did not load properly when connecting to computer and the new disc I got with ebay MVCI cable was cracked. (Disc damaged in shipping) so I was unable to find the USB driver and am still looking for that. I will check the site for the USB Driver.

Thanks all and have a good weekend and holiday season. Hopefully, I can get this to work before year end..................
