Just ordered this very product in 2023 as it is still listed. Thanks for posting in this thread. This was the first search result for me when I searched the subject. I forgot to turn off my radio in a car wash that uses those big brushes. Oddly enough, the radio still works fine. I assume those two lines in my windshield are the second antenna? Anyway, just want to keep thing working.
Someone suggested possibly just removing the fuse to keep the mast in the down position. Unfortunately that 7.5 amp powers several other electrical functions you probably don’t want to give up. It’s located in the trunk fuse box.
I don’t need the antenna as I installed a new Pioneer system with backup camera, Apple Play, etc. My FM antenna is embedded in the windshield and I never listen to AM. I’m not inclined to do the trunk tear down in order to disconnect at the motor. So to date I tolerate the up/down constant function (noise) of the mast. If/when it ever breaks I will opt for the bee sting stubby version. All the best…..great forum.

The last time I checked, for the entire assembly including the antenna switch box, it was $1,500. I couldn't find t didn't broken down by the antenna motor and mast and the Antenna switch components. That was for my 02 mdl.
Well, I got bored this afternoon and took the right side of the trunk apart…..and unplugged the power to the antenna motor. No more up and done. Everything back in place with no missing (or extra) parts. I decided that no visible antenna looked better than all the other options. The removal of the trunk linings are tedious but not difficult if you take time. All good here!
My antenna was going up and down as expected, but once down the motor would continue to run and make embarrassing noises.
I thought I'd just take the mast out and reinstall it and the system would reset. So I followed the TSB and removed the mast, no problem.
But now it won't suck it back in. Motor runs, doesn't grab the plastic (with the teeth toward the back).
I have 48" of toothed plastic below the mast, and I can't tell if the end looks stock or broken.
1. Are there tricks?
2. Anyone know the expected length of the plastic?
