Thank you again. I thought that is what folks were saying but it didn't seem "doable" that you could push a stripped end of any of the wires into the Female side of the connector and then still be able to push the entire connector back into the back of the NAV-DVD unit. That seems so much easier than trying to isolate each of the correctly colored wires on the other side of the connector where all the wires are located, and then with nearly your entire body in the trunk of the car, manage to correctly strip each wire in the middle so that you can attach one of the power wires from the NAVIKS and/or the backup camera, to the wire. Gonna try it in a few.

Alternate method: solder a piece of 1 inch 28 awg bare wire ( telephone wire) to the Naviks wire then insert into the female pin. If someone has a better way to accomplish this task, please share.

Talking I Did It!

Update. I know this might not be a huge accomplishment for many on this great forum, but this is only the second or third repair or mod I have ever done to one of my own cars, and honestly it feels really great. Couldn't have done it without all of you guys who took the time to not only help me this week, but your comments and contributions to others, even 4 years ago gave me the confidence to do this. So thanks to everyone, really, thanks.

BTW - MY next project is to try and repair about 5 or 6 chips in the paint on the drivers side of my car. They look to have been caused in a single breach of my cars beautiful paint. I've picked up two damaged fenders from a nearby body shop, purchased a handful of supplies for the job, and now I am going to start practicing on making similar scratches and chips in the "practice" fenders and will hopefully figure out what works best and doesn't work before even trying to do something on my own to my cars' door. My wife thinks I'm crazy but she sure does like it when I tell her that I've just saved over $100 by doing something myself.

Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy your SC.

Default Mirroring with NavIKS

I am looking at solutions with NavIKS and am interested in using this for back up camera. Reading on their website, looks like one needs the following for mirroring (with audio) and reverse camera:

2006 Lexus SC430 Mirroring and Backup Camera Interface

https://naviks.com/i-22768407-2002-2009-lexus-sc-430-z40-hdmi-video-interface.html?ref=category:113750

https://naviks.com/i-24076036-wired-...tegory:1136681

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-To-200...EAAOSwykZZ74a~

Did you go with the above (or a variation for audio aux input) to do mirroring? Anyone else who has successfully done mirroring with NavIKS, please chime as this route is appealing to me.

Thank you in advance for the help.

@Mazor1 I recently did some paint touchups to my 2004 SC. It sounds like you have large areas to paint but thought I'd share my experience. Both of my headlight washer covers needed painted and my passenger door handle was chipped. I puttied the chips and sanded smooth. I purchased a paint touch up kit from automotivetouchup.com. It came in 3 cans. A base coat, a mid coat and a clear. I was astonished at the match when I was done. I'm a hobbyiest at best...and very happy with the results. I suspect there is enough paint to practice on your test fenders plus your final fix. Good luck with your fix...

Thanks riknchar!
I was just gathering the facts from the forum to do this same thing.
This was exactly what I needed to know.

Default Naviks installation

Thanks to Riknchar;
I purchased the naviks unit online and had it installed by Best Buy Geek Squad. It took one hour /$49 labor.
I couldn't be more pleased. The rear camera works great.

Which rear camera did you purchase? I see the one on Naviks website is sold out.

sc4tlc,
I purchased mine through Amazon.
I looked at Amazon, eBay, and Navicks website.
The price was the same at all three. $245.00

sc4tlc,
I purchased the camera from Best Buy. It is a license plate mount for 79.95.
I am sure I could have bought one online for less, but I didn't want to risk the quality.

Glad it worked out, and happy I was able to help! My local Geek Squad guy does terrific work, but I know this will vary by location.
