Every once in a while, my 2008 SC's warning buzzer starts dinging for no reason. There are no warning lights illuminated. It sounds like the seatbelt warning, but at much lower volume. If I stop the car and restart it, the dinging goes away.

Does it ding when you are driving or stopping ? Engine on or off?

It dings when I'm driving, but only once in a while. When it starts dinging, it will continue dinging randomly until I stop and turn the engine off. I can then restart and drive again without any dinging.

Usually the dinging has to do with the top not being all the way closed or one of your tires is low.
My guess is one of your tire sensors is going out due to an almost dead battery. When you turn off and on the car it re-establishes a link to the sensor and stops dinging.
It is just a guess though.
To check, when your car is dinging, look at your dash board and see if the tire low light is flashing.

I have been checking the dash when the bell is dinging, but no warning lights come on. I think you may be right about the tire pressure sensor, because when the dinging starts, every bump on the road causes a ding. Thanks for the advice; I'm going to start reading up on how to disable the tire pressure monitoring.
Does the tire pressure light come on when you first turn the key? Possibly the bulb is burned out.
Here is the post on disabling the tpms, I have never done it but it looks easy https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...pm-system.html
The tire pressure light is OK. It comes on when I first turn the key. It doesn't come on when the random dinging is happening.
This is a link to your owners manual...do a search for the word “buzzer” you will find the word 35 times. One of those should be the answer.
if you can safely make a video, it would be helpful.
