Lexus is pretty generous when you get it done. Free rental, free carwash (They even waxed my car) and a free tank of gas.

I had the recall done on my 2005 this summer.
If I remember correctly, it was for cars that were in a high humidity area.
My car originally came from Alabama and I am in Alberta.
It took the dealer about half a day and yes, they are more than happy to give you a loaner!
It's a good idea to call ahead as they may have to order the part in.

Had my 2004 done awhile ago. Mine was for the passenger air bag. There are 2 ways to do it. Remove the dashboard or go through the glove box. Discuss it with your service rep. Make sure they go through the glove box.

The airbag recall not only affects Toyota//Lexus but also all auto makers that utilized defective Takatar
inflator modules. The modules could shattered during the airbag deployment caused injuries to the driver and//or passenger. There have been class action lawsuits brought against Takatar.

The early recalls focused on the hot & humid areas to try to take care of those most likely to have failures. The supplies were very limited at first, so after supplies became more available, they opened it up to everyone.
