Wife has been wanting a SC 430 for some time. We have never owned or ever driven a Lexus before. Found a 2005, gold with white interior, one owner (a physician) with 38k miles, no accidents, all service records from purchasing dealer, (including timing belt and water pump replacement), new tires, all 3 keys with key code tag, all manuals, covercraft cover, pretty much like new condition. Always garaged and covered. No scratches, nicks, or rocks chips visible. Just got it home from about 100 miles away. Drove like a dream. So far, so good.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your acquisition! Post some pictures when you get the chance.
38k for a 13 year old car is really good. What part of Texas are you in?
Hi, Thanks for your post. I am new to all of this and please bear with me while learning the ropes. We are in South Texas, south of San Antonio. Here;s the car we just purchased:
Thanks! I am learning a lot from these forums. Its a little scary reading about all the problems people have with their SC 430s but is comforting to know that we can rely on each other for information and fixes. The 430s are getting older (ours 13 years old) and I guess we better plan on some issues even though the quality of these cars is remarkable.

IMHO, if you were to compare our cars to other same age vehicles, you'd find that the number of repairs required per year for the SC is much less than other cars from the same year. Unfortunately, I don't have the actual statistics to back that up... (beyond what Consumer Reports states).
Almost unbelievable how how nice it is isn’t it. Smooth and quiet.
One thing you could do right away would be bring it to a high quality detailer and have the paint buffed out and a top coat polymer put on. Looks nice now but that detailing would make it pop. And have them do the headlights if it needs it.

Hopes this works, let me know
Very pretty. IIRC, this color is called Egyptian Sand Pearl. Saw one like it when I was shopping around in 2008. The interior is like mine - Ecru with Birds Eye Maple. You've got a real spring chicken there at 38k miles. My 2005 is a grand old lady at about 93K miles and she still runs very nice. You have many more good miles ahead of you. Enjoy in good health.

.....and I definitely agree with Harold, if you owned a 13 yr old Mercedes or BMW, I pretty sure repairs would be more often & more costly............enjoy that beautiful car !!!
