Tell us about the details. First, is it a clear or branded title? What is the condition like, how did the carfax look? Are any of the dash lights on? Did you buy it retail or wholesale? Please do share.

Welcome to the sc430 forum. Congrats on you purchase, it's a great car.

You should also check any maintenance info registered with Lexus. Check that the timing belt and water pump were changed near 90k miles. If you can't confirm, I would also check/flush&change all the fluids.

We would love to see pictures! Any mods?

i ran the vin number, clear title no accidents, body is good, leather is not new, timing belt and water pump was done, no warning lights on dash.
i bought a car from private seller,

This is what the car needs
front rotors and pads $150
oil change and transmission fluild change $140
new cabin and air filter $20
new trunk lift support $50
new tabs $120
lock nut $20

I live in snow state, so i will drive the car in summer, maybe 4 months the most for every year,

any inputs or comments will be appricated.

thanks again

If you don't already know this, you can register the car VIN at
https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home
And you should be able to pull up all service done at lexus dealers since in service

If it wasn't a previously wrecked car then I think you did well. You can throw 2k into repairs and still come out ahead.

the trade-in for a 2003 model with 130K is just over $10,000 if the car is in "very rough but running" condition but a clear title according to NADA. How did you come across this private seller? They essentially sold it to you for about 1,000 to 1,500 below "wholesale value", which is what it would pull in at the dealer auction.

Either you got extremely lucky and someone didn't want to trade it in, or there are hidden issues which you may learn about in the future. I hope it works out well for you. Share some pictures and more details.

Well done!
I'm always looking up my way for an affordable, higher mileage SC.
They are very hard to come by.
I'm assuming you did so well because there is very low demand for an SC in Minnesota during the winter months.
Come spring time, you wouldn't have scored this deal.
Please post pics .... I find using a Photobucket photo hosting site works best for me.

Congratulations.

I've always felt it better to use the car throughout the year to keep it in the best shape. Keeps everything lubed and humming!
