Default Will ANY radio put CarPlay on the top screen?

I just began shopping for the same kind of new radio setup. I have a 2002, Red, Ecru. Can you mirror CarPlay apps (specifically NAV, probably Google Maps) to the top screen with a different double DIN unit?

HI BG - I installed the Pioneer AVH 4500 last month with a Beatsonic interface and a backup camera. I pretty much mimicked your configuration. I also repaired all of the foam on the speakers. However, the rear speakers are not playing. Actually, I'm not sure if they ever played since I installed the new head unit (the old memory is not what it used to be). I disconnected one of them and hooked it up with a speaker I had lying around the house but no sound came out. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the set up. Does your rear channel play?. If so, I am trying to determine if it is the head unit or the amplifier causing the problem. Any help is appreciated

I did iphone mirroring via naviks... Honestly, I wish I had just done this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...k-monitor.html

And I might sell the naviks and try at some point in the future, but I'm going to stick with it for the time being.

While that thread doesn't specifically mention carplay, there are carplay adapters (wired and wireless) that add it to any android auto headunit via an apk.
