Default Replacing one nav unit with another

I work as a mechanic at a little used car dealership, and we have a 2008 lexus IS250 with the P1821 nav unit. Now this whole unit is dead, we bought it at the auction like this without knowing the actual cost of the new unit. I went to a salvage yard and they had a nav unit but it is a P1801 unit in the car, can these units interchange without any wiring or problems with the operation of the systems themselves? Thanks and hope to hear something soon, this car has been sitting in the back of our shop for over a year (other problems, idiot salesmen not knowing how to jump a car)

Not sure about the part numbers, but I replaced my DEAD '06 NAV unit with a good, used '08 model NAV unit. Plug and play!

Thanks for the responses, and I forgot the actual number so I was guessing. It is a different unit number than the one that is in the car, that I can definitely remember. Thanks again.

06-09 DVD base Navigation (gen 5) is same.
late 09 -2013 is difference and won’t work on 06-08 without wiring work

09 - 13 is likely for Bluetooth and USB, yes?

Thanks again for the responses, fortunately both cars are 08 models so I shouldn't have any problems.

Should be plug and play, just don't ding up the dash taking the old one out. Plastic tools are your friend
