Default New purchase

Hello everyone.

I am in the market for a SC430. The 2002-2005 models are in my price range.

I am a auto transmission tech, I know the trans and problems it has but I do not know anything else about the rest of the car.
I need advice on what to look out for etc. What mileage etc.

Thank you, Mark

What problems does the sc430 transmission have. I have a 2005 and am not experiencing any issues in fact I don't know of any issues I have seen on the forum .

I'm not aware of any problems either, other than the design problem of the programming that "learns" how you drive and adjusts the transmission's reaction based on its algorithms. (Multiple threads available on this subject.)

Welcome Mark! It would be great to have a Transmission Expert join us on Club Lexus. Though we don't have many transmission problems, that doesn't mean we NEVER have any transmission problems.

As a man who works with his hands, you may want to consider a SC430 with minor issues. Many of the sellers are the original $80,000 purchasers/owners who have had the dealer maintain them to spec. But eventually a bunch of little things start failing and they start to pileup and the next thing you know, having the dealer fix them all cost more than they think the car is worth; So they put it on the market.

Usually you can find the solution to the problems here and remedy the issue yourself at an affordable price.

Whatever you find, let us know and we will be happy to help you out.

Correct, it is an easy key & pedal sequence that will reset the ECU and clear the profile.

I believe the first Neiman Marcus sc430 was the only one that was selling over the sticker price all other years were in the 67,000.00 range
