Bob, To be clear, the trim belt for the rear quarter window just pulls/pries up? Nothing holds it in place other than the existing sealant? And the new one just pushed down vertically seating into place, or did you start at one end working it down as you went along?
Yes Sir, I first made sure the Window was down, then started to pull up, not tools needed, and that belt moulding will lift off very easily! The new Part on the inside has adhesive already installed ;-) Not knowing that, I put a little bead of the 3m adhesive down, but you will not need to do so! The new part also has 2 small pieces of foam attached, again, install is to just push down the new piece! That easy!
Good work Hoffy! I will have to read more on your post and DIY. Can you post the part numbers please so I can start the search? Driver and passenger, please? Thanks in advance and way to go!

Hi ShawnOK, I sent you a PM with all part#'s for all 4 pieces if you decide to do anymore replacements!
I am updating this post since much has developed on my Wash Car, then Wireless Function stops working! As some of you know have spent months trying to troubleshoot what is up, or should I say down )-:
Two Saturdays ago..I wash my Car, thinking all is well since replacing both the driver Door Belt moulding and inside Weather strip!! And after 3o minutes Wireless stops working again!!!!!!!!!
To start over, It is water for sure, 100%, for some reason my water tests apparently worked temporarily!
Now what to do? I call around and searched for someone who has experience with the SC430 to remove and replace with same Windshield! Many glass shops shy -away from doing the SC since there is many---------parts that need to removed and re-installed to do job.
Found a Glass Company in NC who had 2 people who had a total of 50 years of Windshield experience, and yes, both have done a SC430.
This last Tuesday, I was in their shop to watch them take apart my car! Those 2 tech's spent 3 hours on the entire job! Now I know why most glass shops never called me back to give me a quote! I was doing this on my own $$$
This is what is up:
1-As they where cutting out the Windshield with the wire, there was 2 locations that the Wire skipped and moved quickly through 2 points on the Windshield--
2-Driver side, and passenger side apparently had minimal Urethane, The Tech's strongly believe that water for sure is getting in my car, probably both sides! See photos of Glass Windshield removed and the body of the Car where the window attaches.
3-If you look at the bottom corners of the Frame of windshield, there is a direct correlation to water getting down to the Junction Boxes if Windshield is leaking, tech's commented out is a good thing you decide to bring the car in to have fixed!
Other comments..It is possible that the seal went bad and or not enough Urethane was laid down on the bottom corners when manufactured. This is the original Windshield
What next:
1) I need to remove both sides of the interior panels to gain access to the JB, of course the driver side has the parking brake, passenger does not! 2) after inspecting JB's, I believe there is more than likely corrosion and or oxidation. I do have both the drivers and passenger side JB's I purchased on E-Bay used for a 2003 SC.
My choices, Need your all help here:
1) Bring back to shop who charged me 650.00 for a glorified Positive battery terminal?
2) Bring to Lexus? Who replaced both of my door Actuators?
3) or attempt to inspect myself????????? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT STEPS I NEED TO DO TO GAIN ACCESS TO BOTH JUNCTION BOXES---- BobVVTI, do you have the take-parts instructions you can share? I could not find anything on the web or CL.
Passenger side
This is the side of glass that mates with the other photo
Everyone has opinions. To get full access to the driver’s and passenger side J/Bs can involve taking down other pieces. For example on the driver’s side I had to take out the panel under the streering wheel. NOT the SW cover, the panel, then pull back the carpeting as shown in the diagrams above. But I was doing an install of the Luxlink with Steve from Luxury Motorworks. Also pulling out the A pillar and, possibly the sill cover trim, helps for access. Haven’t done the passenger side, but it will be close to the same but with the glove box.
But my question is, if there was a leak in the windshield seal, and they fixed it. Why do you need to get to the J/B?
Since my wireless access is completely dead, Not sure where to turn to next? Alarm system works, keys work in doors, switches activate door locks. I just cannot get any wireless access to car! I think you will remember me saying that in the past when I washed the car, loose wireless access, however the Keyless access would come back on in about 24 Hours later. next day. I assume after drying out from water!
Now after 3 weeks---The wireless has not returned to a working state like the past!
I checked fuses inside car, all look good, I checked engine bay fuses, tooth there also.
Sounds like it’s time to go the dealer, ask for the service manager, not a service writer, to discuss the previous work that did not fix the issue and ask what they’re going to do to make it right. Service techs will be able to plug into the car with the newest techstream tools and do active tests to, hopefully finally resolve this. And I think it’s important that you talk with the tech who fixes it, not the service writer.
I have spent time and much monies trying to isolate this fiasco! I know the manger name, i will set up meeting with them to discuss this matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Hoffy,
have been following your dilemma and admire your tenacity! I'm in NC also by Lake Norman; my dealer is Hendrick Lexus Northlake just north of Charlotte. Are you near that dealer? The service manager there is one of the best I've worked with in 50 years of driving cars; his name is David Shepard and he is great to deal with and very customer oriented. Good luck!

Wait a second.... in another thread you were tinkering with the overhead light and mirror assembly recently. The receiving antenna for the car’s anti-theft system is in the rear view mirror housing. Any possibility there is a connection?
Yes Sir, the shop who performed the 650.00 positive battery terminal replacement was also playing around with my rear view mirror inner parts! So the day I picked up my car, I was told by the owner/Tech the voltage drop across the terminal was the problem. To be safe, not knowing exactly what they played with in the mirror, I decide what the heck, I ordered a replacement used one on the Bay and when they replaced my Windshield, I asked them to use the new used Mirror instead, we then tested at the glass shop, no go!
Key-fob sends transmission to the inside rear view Mirror, then next stop on the CanBus is the Security Module? I also assume then to the Driver side Door MPX Module ? I have also purchased a MPX Module for that door and also a Security Module also on the Bay, those parts have not been replaced!
After reading one of the Post's recently here in CL, Someone had an issue with their blower motor due to corrosion in one of the Junction Box ECU's. So that is why maybe my issue is with a JB due to my Windshield Leak?
JDaveSC430, I went to the Lexus Dealer in NorthLake, talked with Dave the GM of service, they ended up replacing another door actuator! You are correct, he is very customer oriented! It may be time for me to have another meeting
with him! Only good news is they give you a loaner!
When and if we solve this fiasco, I will probably have spare parts to share with other CL members;-) I enjoy my SC, she currently has 19,700 Miles, after spending all this time and money, I am hopeful we can find the issue and fix this concern!
Thanks all for your help and suggestions, that is what makes CL fun, people you never met reach out to help others with problems, a blessing!!
What would be nice at this point of the juncture, is the wireless to start working again since the water issue has been discovered!
What the heck, going to wash my car this morning, lol maybe the wireless will work then, just kidding! I thought I would take a look at this fuse box, according to the diagram on the plastic cover, looks as if a relay is missing?
Can someone please look at your fuse box and compare, am I missing a Relay?
Car is a 2003
Thank you!
Bob
