I'm in the process of installing a touch screen radio , in the process of taking off the climate control off, it broke the face came off. I've purchased a used climate control and plugged it in, the only thing that works on it are the emergency flashers and the clock. back lights come on but none of the other functions work. Checked all fuses, any suggestions.

This probably belongs in the 2nd Gen SC 430 forums (noticed this in edit message: "Lexus 2002 sc430")

try to keep it simple.
disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect and try it again.
also check all of the connectors on the back of the unit.
make sure they clicked in place...I believe there are three of them.
Is it broken in the same way the new one is? Do the same features not work? If that is the case, I'd check for a fuse.
When you installed your new stereo, did you use a wiring harness, or did you splice it in? Possibly you spliced the wrong wire.
Are all your grounds connected?
If you think all those things are good, I'd find a different controller from the exact same year of car as yours
Many thanks,
The face of the old one has two flat cable ribbons that connect the named function to the control board . Those flat ribbon cable are what came off disabling the unit, almost impossible to re-insert these cable. The control board (Male pins) then connect to the 3 plugs in the car's wiring harness. I've checked all the fuses, and I did use an aftermarket wiring harness for the radio made for the Toyota, Lexus plug , which fits perfectly. only wiring I did really was for the speakers pretty straight forward. Radio Mp3 player works perfectly after the instillation .
