JohnnyCake or Bon,
Floptop mentioned that the "I Agree" by-pass ("hack" as he termed it) no longer worked after updating to the latest DVD. Did you find that to be the case?

I have the most recent DVD release, or perhaps only one behind, and it still works. I did lose the ability to override the requirement to be stationary to perform many functions though.

Dunno. I think we may be talking apples and oranges.

There was a hack where you pushed the corners of the screen a bunch of times in a certain order and you could override the motion prevent. A nav upgrade ruined that, although it never was very good to start with because you had to do it every single time you started the car.

Would be cool if someone could supply the part number for the Gen4 DVD player, just to save the headache for anyone looking to do this DIY.

And the screen tap procedure is, (from memory, so I hope it's correct)
1>Navigate to Language Screen via MENU hard button, or even the "I agree" screen
2>Tap upper left corner
3>Tap lower left corner
4>Tap upper left corner
(5>Tap lower left corner)- Not 100% on this step. So try with and without it.
6>Tap lower right corner
7>Press and hold the Override Button until system beeps. DO NOT CHANGE OTHER SETTINGS!
8>Press Back Button in upper right corner
9>Tap Preferred Language or "I agree"

I'm running v10.1 disk on Gen 2/3 player and it still works for me. When you turn off the car, the override will reset to lock out mode. Since I know I can do this sequence at the Language screen or "I agree," I can naviagate easily and do the sequence on the fly. I asked in another thread if grounding a specific will "fool" the ECU into thinking the parking brake is on and therefore NAV touch is always available, but don't think I ever got an answer.

If you decide to upgrade to Gen 4, look for the part number 86841-50090. That is the part number I used to replace the Gen 2/3
( Gen2/3 part number 86841-33060 ) unit in my 2004 SC430.The used unit I purchased was from a 2005 Prius, but there are other Toyotas from around that time period that use that Gen4 model.

Here is a list of donor vehicles which should be accurate :
HIGHLANDER 04-05 player, navigation
LEXUS SC430 05-09 player
LAND CRUISER 04-07 player
LEXUS RX400H 06 player (GPS)
HIGHLANDER 06-07 player, (navigation)
LEXUS GX470 05-06 player
LEXUS LS430 04-06 player
PRIUS 04-05 player (navigation)
PRIUS 06 player (navigation), ID 86841-50090
LEXUS LX470 04-07 player

OK. Found a player from the '06 Lexus RX400 H that you have listed above. Ordered that. I assume that I also need to order the disk that would go with this player. Can anyone tell me what the latest disk version is for a Gen 4 system. A part number would also be superb... Thanks to everyone for the help with this conversion.

The latest version is 15.1. It was released in Noverber 2015. The next release will be in November 2016 and be called 16.1. The Lexus part number is PT219-GEN04-15. The Toyota DVD will work also and has a part number of 86271-GEN04-15.

If you do a search on EBay, search on "Lexus GEN4 map dvd". Be careful, as there are bootleg copies out there. The DVD will have a U30 on it around the 2 o'clock position. Older versions will be U29, U28, etc as they go back through the years. The going price at the Lexus dealer for the real deal is around $169.

FlopTop04...Many thanks for your response. Looks like you have covered everything I need to know. Should all be here next week so we'll see whether it all works as it's supposed to. Again, thanks for the info.

I was wondering about that also. So it sounds like the "I agree" fix is still valid just not the motion override key entry procedure.

Right.

If you want you can override the motion detector by interrupting the speed sensor wire with a two dollar SPST switch. Alternatively, Beatsonic sells a Y cable with the wire isolated for around $150, the only advantage of which is not having to make a cut in the OEM wiring harness.

You can't just leave he speed sensor disconnected as the GPS/Map gets all wonky.

The phone entry lockout when in motion is completely different. That one you could leave disconnected all the time.
