also, v2.0.4 would not work on my 2002. I had to use v1.4.1. Which supports K-line bus

v2.0.4 did work on my relatives 2010 Camry. I think it may work on the 2005+ SC430s, I believe they had the CAN bus.

Looking the codes up on Club Lexus gives you more specific definitions than if you use the internet sites. Not only do people tell you what the codes mean, they often tell you how they fixed the problem.

 

Their ad says the ver 1.4.1 doesn't support k-line which is why I goth the version 2.0.4, which they say does support K-line. I guess I'll get the 1.4.1 and try it out anyway.

 

if you already ordered the product, wait for it and try it out before you order a second cable...look these are cheap cables, it is possible that my 2.0.4 cable did not work on my car because the cable only did one bus type. I just know I have both versions and only one worked on my 2002.

if you have not ordered, do another search on eBay using the words, techstream, on the left side select North America or USA for faster shipping, read the feedback and try to find a seller with min 98% and 100+ feedback. use a win XP OS unless you are good with computers.

Hey guys, I bough this cable:


I installed it in my Window 10 laptop, would not work. I installed it to my Window XP laptop, it's OK, but now it will not talk to my 07 SC. What do I need to do to make it talk to the SC? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Techstream is finicky. I had to re-load the program a few times and it finally worked and continue to work.

Depending on the version, I had to find the right program, spent a few hours looking at posts from the Mazon vendor’s comments.

Knock on wood, it is still working. I maintain an old Dell VISTA (yes VISTA) laptop for this sole reason of the Techstream program.

 

So i took the plunge and bought the Techstream software (v10.10.018) and cable (J2534- No idea how to check firmware on it) and installed it on a Win7 32 bit system. Seems that everything installed correctly but I have no idea how to use this software. I launched the interface and it asks for a key. Did anyone else have this problem? If so, how do we bypass it, or will Techstream still work without the key? I haven't attempted to connect to my 2002 SC430 but thought I'd ask first before doing anything else. Hope someone can offer advice. Thanks.

 

remember, what you purchased is hacked. Read all the files or contact the seller, if no luck, plenty of google info, still if no luck, find a tecky friend, last resort, request your money back!
