Top problems, new owner
New owner for a 2002 SC, Made mistake when lowering top to hit trunk button, top has stopped half open half closed. Light on lose button is solid red and if pushed blinks red but nothing happens. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.
Sorry originally posted in wrong forum.

If not, try holding the roof button in open then close position for about 10-15 seconds each. It may begin to move again.
Lexus calls the trunk the "luggage door." It appears that what you have experienced is exactly what can happen:
Here's a quote from the service bulliten:
The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to provide step by step instruction on how to fully open or fully close the power retractable hardtop if the roof operation is cancelled due to the luggage door operation.
If a request (by wireless remote, button on instrument panel or manually unlocking by key) is made to open the luggage door while the power retractable hardtop is in operation, the operation will be cancelled. It is then necessary to manually close or open the roof using the following procedure.
Habious posted the complete service bulletin with diagrams of how to get it back down and fixed in this thread Four steps, no tools. I carry this service bulletin in my glove compartment at all times!
Let us know how it turns out.

Really glad that worked out for you!!
There was a thread a couple years ago asking whether anyone wanted to deliberately go through the manual reset process, following the instructions. The consensus was NO!
Since you've now gone thought the instructions, any tips or insights you can give? Are the instructions exactly clear and everything proceeds without a hitch?
Everything is always easier the second time, so please let us know what you learned/discovered from going through the instructions.
