Acceleration Issue? Any thoughts..
a lot of time, info doesn't age. I've learned so many tricks to fix this car from reading old posts.
Ever since I did the transmission pressure mod, it seems I don't have this problem anymore. At 70mph, i press the gas pedal to change lane, it revs up, down shift and pass with ease.
I have ECT power on all the time as well.

I found the thread with the trans diagram on how to do the trans pressure mod. How hard was it to drop the pan? Did you replace the strainer/filter when you did it? You still feel the need to run in PWR mode after doing the mod?
Not too bad, but if you have a lift should be easier. You need a min of 4 jack stands (I used 6, better safe than sorry), a floor jack, a flex putty knife (HomeDepot) to cut through the original FIPG. You need to remove the exhaust brace in front of the pan or you can't get the pan out.
Yes, I replaced the filter with another one and use rubber/cork gasket. Make sure you torque those bolts carefully with the right torque numbers. I bought a Tekton 24320 torque to use for this & the valve cover gaskets.
I've left it ECT Power on but it still shifts quickly without it on.
Please keep in mind this is only for the 5speed 2002-2005MY.
