If i understand correctly with navtool i can mirror my apps from the phone on the factory screen. My question for example if I'm using waze is there sound or do I need a seperate aux input interface as well ?

 

Not exactly correct. Navtool will only allow two additional video inputs (device is called a video integration device). You will still need a screen mirroring device to cast your phone/tablet screen. Therefore you need BOTH the video integration and the mirror unit. Check out NAVIKS on Ebay, they are just like NAVTOOL but also make a screen mirroring (wireless and wired) unit that will allow you to cast your phone/tablet screen.. I use the NAVIKS video integration unit and haven't had a single problem in nearly 4 years. I couldn't afford their wireless mirror unit, so I bought a Boss Audio Wifi Mirror Unit. Mixed system, but works great. In regards to the sound, you are correct. You will need a seperate audio input (I use VaisTech SL3U for true AUX input), but you could also use a tape adapter of FM transmitter/modulator, too. I use Waze all the time and my setup works very well. Fair warning, using screen mirroring and 4G will eat your battery fast. Also, what year is your SC?

Wow, I stand corrected, I guess NavTool does have a screen mirror unit. But I don't agree with the statement, that Navtool is "the ONLY solution." NavIKS offers both wired and wireless solutions.

Navtool.com, with your unit do you still have to purchase the video integration unit in addition to the screen mirror unit? or does the screen mirror unit have built in video integration? How many inputs does this unit offer? Ie... can you use HDMI cable for screen mirroring and also add a back up camera? Or only one of these options?

apple is restricted to apple TV only, using available WIFi mirroing devices out of china makes your phone freeze.

I use Boss Audio Wifi Screen mirror and my phone does not freeze and sound syncs up with video very well. Misleading comment. In any case this seems like a very cool unit! I would just hate having to route a 10' HDMI cable from the trunk to the center console, which is why i prefer wifi screen mirror (and I also use Qi Wireless Charging for my phone so my micro usb port-also used for HDMI out- is occupied). But laying the cable can be done! Very awesome piece of technology!

 

because you don't have an iPhone, on android its no problem

reason we made it wired because iphone nothing but problems when mirrored via wifi
