Default Dash Glare/Reflection

Well, I am technically pausing on mods to my car but lately we have been having some unusually sunny weather here in Michigan and I have noticed that my dash reflects on the windshield at times. It's not just annoying but dangerous, IMO. There were times driving home the other day when I couldn't see traffic ahead of me very well at all.

So, I am curious what others have done to deal with this (or whether anyone else has noticed it.) I see dash covers going for between $60 and $120, but so far they all look terrible in my opinion.

Hmm, I have the exact same color combo as you and I have never had issues with glare blinding me ( at least not obscuring the windshield view outwards ) in my now 7+ years of ownership. My nav gets washed out in bright sunlight but that is about it.

This is maybe a dumb question, but is your dash top black? Mine is gloss black which I think is why it is reflecting so badly. When it reflects, it literally blocks out everything in front of the windshield. Nearly all of my cars have had black interior and never had this issue before.

I am looking at matte sprays to take some of the gloss off of it, but worried I will make a mess trying that.

Vinyl wrapping might be another option.

Yes my dash top is black. It has a slight sheen to it but I would not call it gloss black. Maybe someone added some polishing substance to yours ? All I do with mine is a little Armor All once every 6-9 months.

Check this out... pretty fair fix if the glare really bothes you. I've just learned to live with it and keep a pair of sunglasses near. There was another thread about spraying some type of matte finish on the dash but from my recollection, it didn't turn out too well.
