Default SC 430 Dash Pad

Anybody have any dash cracking issues? What is the best dash cover for an SC430? Thanks,

Try "Dash Designs" and order the brushed suede texture. I purchased it because my wife saw a glare in the windshield which I did not see. Now that I have installed it, it looks great and does a great job of protecting the dash from the sun's rays. It also probably absorbs more sound than the plain dashboard use to reflect.

The glare on the dash kills my eyes on some days, I'm glad someone brought this up. Any pros/cons since you have it? Is it an exact fit?

It's an exact fit that has the proper cut for the light sensor, etc., and actually looks great. Now that we have it on, I can't imagine not having it, nor can I think of any con's.

Thanks, have any pics? I'll probably end up buying it, I've wondered how to get rid of the glare.

My only question would be...

What about interfering with proper airbag deployment?

...also a pic would be great!!!

Thanks!

There would be an opening over the airbag...one would think.

This is a photo I took sometime back not specifically for the dash cover, but it should give you an idea of the fit. In regard to the airbag deployment there is a cut out, so should the airbag deploy there would be no resistance to stop it from expanding. If you look closely you can see the cut out for the airbag on the passenger side.

Also, the dash cover is held on by velcro patches that you cut out and place on the dash. With top down all is well, it won't fly away.

Good question, I actually bought mine from www.rockauto.com, where it was less expensive than on the actual Dash Designs website. I don't think they carry the brushed suede model anymore on rockauto. On the Dash Designs site I think it's about $50.

The fit is so custom that you will need to push it with an interior tool or screw driver between the windshield and the dash. Again, I really like it and believe not only does it get rid of the glare, but it looks good also. All in all it takes very little work to install and I believe most people will be very happy with the end result.

From their website:

"10-Will my dashcover cover my dashboard airbag?
If your vehicle has a designated panel for an airbag, your dashcover will have a flap over the airbag which will not impair its operation. If there is no panel, no flap will be made and there will be no impairment."

Looks great, I think it'd match my black interior nicely. Thanks for the pics!
