Default Luggage SC430 Problem Solved

Hi All,

After having my SC430 for a few days, I recognized the problem with a lack of space for luggage during touring/road trips. I came up with the following solution:

1. Set both the drivers and passenger seat memory switch #2 to move the seat and seat back to the furthest most forward position when you hit #2, key off, hold for 2 seconds then release. Your seat will now automatically go as far forward as it can giving you ample room to access the rear seats even with the top up.

2. Purchase high quality leather "Duffle" style luggage, 18",20", 25" and place them vertically in the back seat and strap them in with the seat belt provided.

3. Press memory button #1 to return seat to your desired position and you are good to tour with at least 10 days worth of luggage capacity and keep your Lexus spare tire in the trunk which allows you to run Conti Pure Contact Grand Touring all-season tires which gives this car a much improved tide quality.

Have a great summer!

Nice looking bags. It is amazing just how much the SC430 will hold. JohnnyCake took a picture of all the stuff that he was able to pack into his car and it was quite substantial. Then again, he fully loaded the trunk, whereas you will be able to drop the top with your configuration.

Just be sure to never accidentally hit the seat position #2 while sitting in the car!

Good point! Pushing button#1 automatically stops #2 from operating. Pushing button #1 again resets the seat to #1's memory position.

I got them at a luggage store going out of business. You can source them on sale at airlineintl.net. Look for the Dorado Collection by Dilana. The bags are real Vaquetta leather made in Columbia.
They are very well made and look great in the "luggage shelf" in the rear of the SC.
