Just an update post on MPGs for our cars: did a 12 hour drive today, 98% Hwy, 875 miles. Speed was between 65-85 mph, mostly 75+. A few sharp bursts up to 95 mph for overtaking and just to stretch her legs a bit. Riding on a set of old Blizzak winter tires that will be retired in one week's time, 16 inch after market rims specially for this winter set. Just serviced my K&N air filter (DIY), new timing belt and water pump service completed recently but my synthetic oil in the engine is probably 5000 miles old. Got 26.1 mpg overall on the trip computer and the highest reading I saw on the trip was 26.4, round about the 790-800 mile mark. I did the last 60-70 miles top down which may have affected the drag coefficient of the car.
Kick down acceleration was still pretty decent for a nine year old car with 70K miles on the clock. And it was a pretty comfy ride overall.
And just as I was getting my last tank of gas, some guy in an SUV pulls up next to me and compliments the car. He could not believe it was 9 years old. Must have been that carnauba wax I have been using ....
Thanks for sharing. Really thinking about getting one by the end of the year and wondering how the mileage will do for a daily driver so this sums it up for me.
On my ~1k mile, 16 hour, nonstop drive from Oklahoma up to Chicago, my total avg mpg was 32 mpg according to the trip computer. I was amazed! I would attribute that to 75+ mph most of the way and my new Weapon R Intake. Now as my daily driving is mostly urban and occasional highway stretches, I get about 18 mpg according to the readout.
I am a Realtor and do a lot of in town driving. For the last three tanks I have averaged 20.1-21.2 in Dallas area traffic. Highest I have ever recorded was 28 on the road round trip to and from San Antonio.

Incredible mpgs. Never seen mine go that high, even on a downhill stretch after I reset the trip computer. Though I am not sure my current wheel/tire setup is the most fuel efficient and I only have the older 5 speed tranny.
What made the whole trip so perfect for me was to get multiple compliments after putting the old girl through such a long trip. Just did my state inspection yesterday and a couple of people in the line complimented her again.
Got to love it.
Just gave her a full synthetic oil change yday so ready for the next long drive.

Geez, the trip computer says I'm getting 18.1 mpg around here in Dallas and I think we all agree it's a bit higher. I guess I have to stop driving 40-45mph and start going 60mph.
