2002 SC430 Dream Changes
2002 SC430 Dream Changes.
We all love our SCs, however, we all have these little things we wish were better.
If you could change your 2002, here are some of mine. Any others?
1. Bright dash gauges (invisible in bright sun)
2. Lighted roof cluster buttons (so you can see the buttons at night to open the garage door)
3. ‘Intelligent’ cruise control so when you slow below ~35 mph, it remembers your setting.
4. Just about 3+ inches longer, to give some room to the rear padded bench (seat).
5. Seat backward motion sensor, to stop seat when it sees an obstruction.
6. Ability to function the quarter windows (top up or down).

I don't have an 02 but those bright whitish dash lights, I HATE THEM. Wish they were red or orangy like bmw's.. My eyes are very sensitive to light so I absolutely hate them and also this small display and its background color:
makes my eyes go at night and its very ugly anyways, its like the calculator screen so they might aswell give a calculator in the car -_________-
second are the quarter panel windows, wish they went down .. and I dont think I want luxlink as the install seems complicated

Keyless door locks and ignition (my 2007 Prius had them!)
Ventilated/Cooled seats (great here in Texas when its HOT!)
Factory remote top drop and start options.
Love my car. Hard to improve on what I consider the best car I've owned so far.

On 2002s ?????? Maybe, does anyone know?
I see that the 2010 still had a telescoping antennae. Interior and engine compartment virtually untouched. A couple of bells and whistles and the 2002 is practically 95% of the 2010. Makes you wonder that the design engineers did all their work in 2001 and went to sleep for the next 9 years. Very little tech improvements.
Love the car and wish that if they put some real effort in upgrades that the model would still be available in 2014. Or maybe marketing hit the total production on the nose some what like VW did with the "Thing'.

I think that the parking sensors were only installed on cars outside the US and maybe just in the Netherlands area. But I'm not sure.
Nope, the SC NAV was updated after 2003. (I believe that it was 2004 when the next generation came around, it may have been 2005.)
