I'm not sure i want them to do this either. Anyone know if you use a dealer for service if they are 'required by law' to do this whether you want them to or not?
Just received my notice too saying parts likely available in july some time.
Having them take the beautiful dashboard apart or having shrapnel fly in your face if the airbags deploy (the fine print on the notice). Apparently the second notice will go out "when the remedy is available". Sounds to me like Lexus hasn't figured out how to do this, not that the part isn't available yet.
Does anyone know if this kind of recall affects the value of the car? Does it show up on Carfax for example? I have a Pine Pearl 2003 with 20,000 miles on it, in perfect condition. A real garage baby. Just wondering.
