I just got the Notice for the front passenger airbag inflator module today.
anyone else got it?

 

I got one as well. Looks like I will need to pay them a visit.

 

I don't think we can go before we get the second notice

 

Just looked at it again.. Bright red letters.. "We will send you a second notice." lol

 

They are not going to touch my car if they have to tear apart the dash.

 

I'm not sure i want them to do this either. Anyone know if you use a dealer for service if they are 'required by law' to do this whether you want them to or not?
Just received my notice too saying parts likely available in july some time.

 

Yes, got mine as well and I'm to wait until the second notice.

 

Having them take the beautiful dashboard apart or having shrapnel fly in your face if the airbags deploy (the fine print on the notice). Apparently the second notice will go out "when the remedy is available". Sounds to me like Lexus hasn't figured out how to do this, not that the part isn't available yet.

 

yea I got the notice too, said another letter with an appointment would come in July

 

Got my "notice to the notice" letter yesterday, too.

 

Does anyone know if this kind of recall affects the value of the car? Does it show up on Carfax for example? I have a Pine Pearl 2003 with 20,000 miles on it, in perfect condition. A real garage baby. Just wondering.

I wonder how many parts they have to remove to get to the passenger airbag? What could be damaged or scratched during this process.
