Unhappy Help a newbie

OK, so after having a Harley for 11yrs and wife refusing to ride, I sold it and told her I would like to buy something she would ride. We just bought an 02 SC 430 and really enjoying the car. Get the same kind of looks you get on a bike, but here's the problem. She doesn't believe me when I told her you have to have a motorcycle license to DRIVE a convertible (and I'm a cop). I haven't seen the car in the garage yet. The passenger seat was supposed to be hers. Can you guys reply and tell her that YOU REALLY DO NEED THE MOTORCYCLE license!!!

Only if she refuses to wear her seatbelt, while driving in reverse, in excess of 45MPH on the last Wednesday of any month.

. I told my wife she needs written permission from her husband in our county if she is driving it by herself.....for some reason she thinks I'm not being honest....Probably comes from 20 years of stories I've sorta told her

You must have a motorcycle license to drive the SC430. Otherwise you must sit in the passenger seat.

( hope this helps )

Default Strictly Legal Advice!

BM007,

Although I usually do NOT give legal advice on this forum, in this case I feel duty bound to do so. In your state (what state was that again?) a wife of any age must wear a motorcycle helmet while coming within 3 feet of an sc 430.

If the law is broken and she is found guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction, the penalties can be severe. They include 48 hours in a public stock (much like during the reign of Henry VIII) and wearing a red Lexus logo on her blouse so all will know she is a violator,

She should know, that medical science also backs this sound rule of law because it is common for females who refuse to wear helmets while driving to gain 10 lbs around the waist and 10 bounds around the hips!

So, you see, it is for her own good. Hopefully she'll understand this when you inform her of the awful penalties and side effects involved!

Good luck!

Mike

You guys are the best...thanks for all the support. Now, at least she knows it's not me and that most people understand that the SC is not for the WIFE to drive...

Mrs. Lucky and I recently completed our 3916.1 mile tour of the South and she got to drive 2.2 miles when she ran out of baking ingredients for cookies for the grandkids....I felt a Kroger run was relatively safe....

The obvious answer is to buy two SC430's! Then the wife has her own to drive.
