Default passenger door locks dont work with remote

My 2002 SC 430 PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS DON'T OPEN OR CLOSE BY THE REMOTE. And when I open the drivers door with remote passengers door won't open by the door switch, has to be open by reaching over and flipping the door lock. But will open when engine is started. Help please

DId you try pushing the remote's open door button down twice. First push opens driver's side and second opens passenger's. This double push needs to happen say within 1 or 2 seconds.

Yes ,tried that. Took apart remote and cleaned it, took battery terminal off. Still don't work.

I've owned my car for 3yrs and I'm not sure I've got the double button push down. The only way I know it's been accomplished is the triple beep feedback from the car. I do believe there is a set-up that can be changed to unlock both doors. Most of the time I unlock the drive side and unlock the passenger side from inside.....just easier.
