Default Keyless Entry with Door Handle

I know that you can change the LPS to unlock all 4 doors when you grab the driver's handle.

But--I thought I read somewhere that the door handle can function like the remote, that if you hold onto the handle, or grab it a second time, it will open the other 3 doors? Has anyone else heard or done this? My salesman said you can't.

Thx.

No.

When you touch the car once or twice, it does the same thing. That one thing it does can either unlock the driver side only, or all the doors, depending on the Personalized Settings.

i've said this before and i'll say it again.

here's the way my car functions: when i grab the driver's door handle for the first time, all the doors unlock.

i have never ever had my LPS done.

when i touch the driver side only my door opens. But when I touch the passenger side, all doors open. This is how it was when I brought it.

OP, I don't know if you already know this or not, but just hold on to the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously.

This will program that car so that when you touch the driver's side door, all doors will be unlocked.

Don't waste your free LPS service on this.

Hope that helped.

press both buttons (lock and unlock) simultaneously until the car beeps, then go to the door handle and pull it....it will switch to "unlock all doors" option.

OP, this is true. Hold lock and unlock button simultaneously until you hear a beep and it will reprogram to unlock all 4 doors. Just did mine last week using this one step. Don't waste your time going to the dealer.

I just bought a 2012 IS350 and didn't know how to change this feature until I landed on this page. Thanks to you guys, it saved me a trip to the dealer and hours of searching through Google. This forum is awesome.

How do you revert back to just the driver side handle to unlock just the driver door and passenger to unlock all 4 door?

Thanks

Just push the same buttons again. It toggles between the two modes each time you do it. You can see which mode is selected when it changes by watching the small display in the gauge cluster.

Does this mean by pressing the black button on the door handle will unlock my car?

The black button locks the car. The touch sensor on the inside of the handle unlocks the car (either the entire car or just the driver's door, depending on the personalization setting - the passenger handle always unlocks all doors).
