Default Mpg

Question for all you SC430 guys, what is the typical mileage you get from your SC430? Reason I ask is because I have only been getting 16 MPG in my SC? Anyone else have any numbers for comparison? Thank you

Wink mileage

I've been getting 19-20 mpg in city, 22 mpg in mixed driving. Perhaps you have more of a lead foot.

Default nope...

I only got that kind of mileage the first few thousand miles... I've had the computer tell me 20.7mpg for the past 4000 miles or so...

Do you have a lead foot maybe?

Oh an OT reply....how many of you have rode out the gas light. It seems as if the gas light goes on and the comp will indicate about 17 miles left in the tank. I know this is bull, but just curious on feedback, how many gallons the car takes when the gaslight has just come on and you fill up....I dont recall ever filling the tank when the light was on. I'm sure I have, but oh well.

Majority of driving is in the city and on adjacent roads with 45mph limits.

ECT power off - 17-18
ECT power on - 14-15

I'm normally driving in 2nd and 3rd gears - very rarely in 4th or D.

LOL, Larry ...

Yes, I do live in the woods, but occasionally I have to ride into town to rustle up some grub.

There are four small communities here, none with more than 80,000 people. They all have paved streets, some sidewalks, police forces, and fire stations. We even have criminals, but most are not home-grown - they're imported from the NYC area, mainly the Bronx and Brooklyn.

The entire county has a population of about 200,000 - that's why one rarely sees luxury cars. I've seen only two other SC430s and then only once! (They might have been from out of town).

There are a few high-end MBs, Porsches, and ... um ... what the heck is that other car? ... oh yeah, BMWs.

Criminals ?, Crimes ? Like what.......who stoled the apple pie that was sitting on Mrs. Farmer Browns window sill to cool ? What happens in a case like that...........does Thelma patch through a call to Andy and Barney ?

You want to know the truth Ed ? I really envy you. I would LOVE to live in an area like that, no kidding !

Now what about those leaves ? Any color changing yet ?

Crimes? Drugs, prostitution, murder .. and when the lowlifes are nabbed and make the news, I see that the great majority have downstate addresses. Giuliani, God bless his soul, did an excellent job of cleaning up NYC, but the problem just got transferred up here (and other upstate communities). Mayberry RFD this place just ain't ... too bad about that - it used to be that way when I was growing up.

Get this ... when I was 9 and my brother was 5, we rated a 2 1/2-inch local newspaper article for shooting BB-guns at pie plates while being supervised by three adults! Talk about crime! (We got our guns back because my father knew the cops).

There's still a lot of green in these h'yar parts, although many trees have changed. I've been waiting for a perfectly sunny day to take a couple of pics for you - that may be this week.

Unfortunately, the drought that we have all experienced has taken its toll. The leaves on many trees have turned a kinda crispy-dead brown and gave up the ghost instead of going out in a blaze of color.

With ECT off, cruise control on, steady 75 indicated on Route 80 in New Jersey, computer says I am getting 22 mpg, sometimes 23. I think this is pretty good. Bridgestone run flats, 40 lbs cold, 17,000 miles on car. Would cheerfully sacrific gas mileage for improved steeriing, cannot wait for tires to wear out, doggone things still look good for 5-10g more, then will get NREIFF's recommended Michelins, see his thread on this subject.
