Default Speedometer - Instrument Cluster question

We just bought a damaged '07 and were wondering if we could use a '02 to 05' instrument cluster in it. I realize that the '07 has a six speed tranny which shows up digitally on the speedometer when you manually shift, but would an older one work? I have a trade deal with a local wrecker (long story, but I'm still alive) and all they have are the pre-'06 models.

Any thoughts or experience in this area would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have only seen one 02 soarer doing the 06+ speedometer conversion successfully so far.
According to that owner in Japan, it was difficult because it was not plug and play and it required modifications.

I believe one cl member here also had tried to do it but failed.

Not doable without a rewire. In addition going backwards to an 02-05 cluster would look wrong as the 06+ has completely different lighting.
