Angry Brake Pedal Release Unsatisfactory

I have had my new 2003 SC 430 for a week. One problem is that when I take my foot off the brake pedal it is not smooth on the release - it is abrupt. I am taking it back to the dealer but wanted to know if others have had this problem.

Nope haven't experienced that.. BTW welcome to Club Lexus.. Good to see another Canadian SC430 owner and you're in Ontario too..

Dealer should fix that with no issue.. If you don't mind me asking where did you buy your SC430??

Do you mean like when you are leaving a stop light and transfer your foot form the brake to the gas? What does it do. I have a 02 and never that come up....

I have had my SC430 since August and forgot to mention this at the 1000 mile service but have noticed the same problem. When you take foot of the brake it releases and makes a noise as if they did not put any pressure on the release. I will definitely raise it at my next service. Just wanted you to know other new SC with same problem.

Default Brake Pedal Release Unsatisfactory

Just got back from the dealer and they say that all the sc 430's have this rough brake release feel that I have identified.

Since Lexus dealer say that all the sc 430's have this rough brake release feel, I would say my car has the same feature.

I had a clunking sound with my brakes and took it into the shop. The mechanic put some kind of lubricant so the pads would move more freely. Not only is the clunking gone but the brakes feel much better, more responsive, smooth...

Same situation here and mine is a 2007. I would guess your dealer is correct. Just a little annoying but can live with it.

It depends on how quickly u take ur foot off the brake pedal.

If u do it slowly, then you will never feel it.
