Thumbs up Keeping the Lexus for now!!!!

However I purchased a new "Winter Car"

What do you all think? I got it same color and options shown here...

jw, whyd you end up keeping the SC? cool looking winter car, i dont think ive seen any on the road..what year is it?

Playtym, looks nice for a winter car. Is it all wheel drive? Or just front? Now the big question, is your wife going to paint a whole new painting? Or just paint this one in the painting you already have?

Glad to hear you are keeping the SC. I like the color of the C30. Are the ABL (Active Bending Lights) as cool as they say?

People seemed to want to really lowball me and I've put too much work and money into the car to let her go for practically nothing.

The C30 is new 2011...

The C30 only comes in FWD, but I'll put some 16" steel wheels on it with thinner winter tires and with 62% of the weight in the front she should do great in the snow...heck they're tested in Sweden...so if it can drive in snow there should be okay here in Vermont...LOL

I think I'll have her paint a whole new picture. She says she wants more practice painting cars anyways.

Thanks...I like the color of the C30 too...it's muted enough to not be too loud, but still turns heads.

I wasn't able to get the Bi-Xenon headlights as I wanted the R-design with all the other options matched with a 6spd manual and there were only 3 in the US that matched and this one didn't have the Bi-Xenon headlights. I bet they would be cool though!

I had three different Volvos growing up ('70 (145), '80 (240), and '89(740) models).

While they were all rear-wheel drive, they all drove in the snow like a snowmobile! (without chains or snow tires)

I looked at the C30 when it came out a few years ago. It is a blast to drive and it has a really well designed interior with high quality fit and finish. The Volvo salesperson couldn't get the lease payments down enough though since it was a new model and I ended up getting a Mini Cooper instead. I loved the styling of the C30 though, not your typical vanilla hatch. Good choice IMHO.

Good to hear you kept the SC. You would have probably regretted it, if you got rid of it. < well at least, I know I would have if I was in your situation.

I agree! Love the styling, fit, and finish of the C30. It is also a blast to drive...especially with the 6spd manual IMHO!

My thoughts exactly! I've put a lot of time and energy into the SC and it's a wonderfully unique car and I would have regretted parting ways with it. Glad I kept it!
