Hi folks,

I am rather new to this whole Club Lexus thingy, so this probably has already been posted & discussed, but how does one determine the build date of their car?

I did an Advanced Search but go so many hits that it would take ~3 yrs to read them all.

Carfax or autocheck report has the build date.

The door jam label may have it but I am not sure.

The build date (at least the month and year) is on the driver's door sticker.

. . . your 2002 Lexus SC 430 build date is 01/23/2002.

OK, stay with me on this.

I went here: http://www.lexus.com/

Near the bottom of the page there is a "Contact Lexus" option.

I clicked on it & then sent them a message, as I remember it ( hey, I'm old OK ).

I then got an automatic response from here:

Customer_Satisfaction_Inquiries@lexus.com

That said:

Your email has been received by Lexus. You should expect a response from us within 24 hours if it was submitted between Monday and Thursday.

The reference number for your question is: 110521-000093

This is pretty cool. I emailed in the evening and the next morning they emailed me back my build date. Turned out to be a Tuesday -- so the workers were over their weekend hangovers and not yet getting ready for the next one!

The next question is whether anyone knows the production run dates for each model year. If mine were built the FIRST Tuesday of the run, that might spell trouble!
