I just bought a new on for my '02 at Sears; a Diehard @ ~$90.

You might consider also consider a battery tender for those long storage periods.

I believe I read one time that Interstate battery is the manufacturer of the Lexus brand battery but as Jerry stated you can get one at Sear's as well! GL with your purchase.

One additional comment: I strongly recommend that everyone put the oiled felt washers around both battery terminals.
Usually available at any auto parts store for ~$2.00.

Battery savers they are called.
Never believed in them. Chanced upon a sale and I bought a ton. Have them on all cars now.
Prevents corrosion, I used to clean up my terminals 2x a year but now no more. Of course I keep my terminals lubricated as well.
Nothing beats good lubrication.

I have the diehard platinum on my 2 Toyotas and will buy one for the SC when the time comes. They are similar to the Optima batteries in that there is no liquid acid and no corrosion. They are expensive

You may not be able to get it.
I don't remember name of the very top-line battery at Sears but it was not available for the SC.
I had to go with 2nd best,

Jerry,
Diehard website says no battery for the SC. Which model did you get and what size?

Diehard's website doesn't list a battery per se for our SC, but it does for the LS430 and I thought I remember someone saying this works before, I'd have to search.
Nonetheless, these are $215 and appear to be geared towards garage queens. P5 Only rated 3.5 stars out of 5 by people who bought it. Not good! Says it has 740 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) and 100 minutes of reserve charge (I'm assuming that means after the car is off---good for plugged in ipods, cell phones, etc).

Park Place sells their OEM battery for $107-it's made by interstate
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0
Per Interstate's site, it has 880 CCA (cold cranking amps) and 965 amps:

I believe we have beat this topic to death several times before and we have many SC ratings/reviews on Interstate, Die Hard and Optima as well as the OEM.
To me, it would be hard to justify 2x the price for the Die Hard Platinum versus the OEM or Interstate. Not sure what the Optima costs these days.

OK, now you've made me get up off of my keester & go look it up.

My paperwork says:
Item # PS 22833148 BATRY.DH GOLD GP 48/H6
I would think that if you took that info into a Sears Auto Center they will problably be able to determine just what battery it is.
Edit: It says $139.99 but they gave me $40 or $50 trade-in.
Again, best of luck,
Jerry Baumchen

Or go to Advanced Auto or Autozone, get the premium brand like the GOLD or PLATINUM, like $110 the last time I checked. 3 years replacement guarantee and prorated up to 80 months.
Thanks,
Tried AutoZone and Advance, both were worse than the dealer.
Pepboys has a Bosch for 99, anyone tried it.
Thanks for the help.

well if your not trying to go cheaper but better and longer lasting better warranty...i would recommend optima red or yellow top batteries.
If you want a cheap battery then walmart will have one in your size, believe last time i checked they had one for like 79 bucks or something. If all else fails go to your local toyota and it will be a little bit cheaper than lexus.
