Default Deactivate Steering Column

I'm new to the forume, so I hope this is not a repeat question. How do I set the steering column to become inoperative? I would like to push button1 or 2(seat default positions) and have the preset column, wheel stay in that position until 2 or manual adjustment is inputted.

It's in your owner's manual. If you don't have one, go here http://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdriver...nual-search.do they're online.

I think he's just wanting it to remain in position instead of retracting up and forward when the ignition key is removed. But he'd still like to be able to operate the controls and select either of the two programmed positions.

You're welcome. This is a customize parameter that can be set by your dealer. The tilt/away feature is ON by default but it can be turned off so that it behaves as you want it to.

Thanks everybody. VVTjiBob's tread gives me all the info I need. It's a c-best (software change) and can only be accomplished at the dealer.

I understand now. I would llike this option removed, too. Seems like a waste of battery juice and the additional wear on the mechanical components.

Need to convince my dealer to do it for me.
